ENGINEERING PORTABLE UNDERWATER LAMP AS AN AUXILIARY GEAR FOR PURSE SEINE

Lights are common supporting tool in purse seine fishing Indonesia. Currently, lamps on seines use mercury and metal halide (MH) which require very high electrical power. Therefore, there is a need for an effective underwater light technology alternative with low electric The aim of this research to design portable lamp (PUL) can be controlled remotely support operations. engineering process creating the PUL includes buoy construction, temperature testing, distribution, waterproofing, motion testing. results show that enables tools remotely. average 40 ⁰C, lower than MH reaches 250 ⁰C. spreads evenly at angle 360⁰ horizontal 180° vertical. Meanwhile, test showed was watertight highly stable.
